Fire extinguishers are portable suppression systems that are used on small fires, they should only be used on fires by trained personnel.
It is a legal requirement to have suitable extinguishers within company buildings and that the extinguishers are serviced in accordance to BS 5306. The Regulatory Reform Order issued in 2006 states that ‘Employers have a Duty of Care’ to appoint a responsible employee to carry out Risk Assessments of their buildings and ensure that the extinguishers are maintained by a Competent Service Company.
All engineers at E K Fire Protection Ltd comply with the current British Standards. They regularly attend refresher training courses in accordance to BS 5306.
